GP Week : Issue 209
Daniel Ricciardo has suggested it is possibly time for team orders to be considered at Red Bull Racing in order to present a stronger challenge to Mercedes. The Australian added another 10 points to his Championship at Monza after coming from 11th to fifth, in the process overtaking teammate Sebastian Vettel. Both men struggled in Qualifying, Ricciardo starting 10th before losing two places at the start. But, while the next few tracks may favour Red Bull more than did Monza, Ricciardo has said that it might be time for the team to make a decision on its priorities. “My lead is around 60 points over Seb,” he said. “I would love to be quicker on merit and not need team orders, but the next couple of tracks are perfect for us so if we need to make any decisions if we can challenge Mercedes for the title then I am sure they will be made.” C M Y CM MY CY CMY K 2014_KV3_GPWeek_A5_FA_OUTLINED.pdf 1 24/7/14 4:00 pm F1 >>> nEWs riCCiarDO: it's time Could RB invoke team orders to help Dan's challenge?
