MOTOGP >>> nEWs aprilia and gresini join forces Aprilia has confirmed its return to MotoGP and will join forces with Gresini Racing for the next four seasons. Gresini has named Alvaro Bautista as a rider for the next two seasons. His teammate is expected to be named soon, with Marco Melandri (who raced for Gresini in 2005-2007 and 2010) expected to get the role. Fausto Gresini (pictured) has been a Honda man since he started his team, racing in the 125cc class in 1997. It currently holds the rights to run two Factory entries in MotoGP. “I am very glad that Aprilia identified Gresini Racing as the ideal partner to enter the MotoGP World Championship,” said Gresini. “I would like to thank the Piaggio Group for giving me a fantastic opportunity, that is working closely with such a glorious manufacturer; an Italian brand that has become synonymous with passion for racing, reaching amazing results worldwide. “In this moment I feel a great responsibility, but the motivation to succeed in this exciting, all Italian challenge is even bigger.” 17 GPWEEK.com // 17 GPWEEK.com // PARTNERS:
