Despite not having raced this year, the Prodrive-run squad won for the second year in a row, with David Brabham, Darren Turner and Antonio Garcia in the 009 car. Risi Competizione were clear favourites for the GT2 victory and didn’t disappoint. The 82 Ferrari of Mika Salo, Jaime Melo Jr and Gimmi Bruni was top of its class at the end of every hour from the half way point onwards and when Virgo Motorsport’s Ferrari retired with two hours remaining, there was no other threat. “I can’t believe it,” said team manager Dave Sims. “My first win after three years at Le Mans.
