>>F1PREVIEW 9th toro rosso Best 250:1 shortest 80:1 DRIVERS The likelihood of Toro Rosso repeating its 2008 performance is slim. It may have a Red Bull car and a Ferrari engine at its disposal, but it has also lost the phenomenal talent of Sebastian Vettel. Its win in Monza was no fluke, as was evidenced by Bourdais’ similarly fantastic run in qualifying, but he was rarely on the same form as Vettel and will have to do better in 2009. Newboy Buemi doesn’t bring much to the table in terms of results and experience, so it’ll be interesting to see how he fares. But as for the team challenging for the title? It appears more likely the team will have stepped backwards than made another huge leap towards the front. 16. sebastien Bourdais Best 250:1 shortest 150:1 17. sebastien Buemi Best 500:1 shortest 150:1 no shock to see the str boys this far down the pecking order. as their odds suggest, the established view is they don’t stand much of a shot this season. Well, not at the titles anyway. 10th Force IndIa Best 500:1 shortest 200:1 DRIVERS The longest odds in the field, and there’s no real shock there. Force India finished 2008 without a point to its name, but a switch to Mercedes power units in 2009 has seen it run even faster than McLaren in some tests. While at present that seems to have more to do with the fact that McLaren is struggling than Force India suddenly finding the Midas touch, there’s no denying the fact that the team is hoping to be a bit more competitive in 2009. But that doesn’t mean championships. No, first and foremost it means scoring points. Talk of the title is a long way off yet. odds correct at the time of going to press 19th Giancarlo Fisichella Best 1000:1 shortest 200:1 20th adrian sutil Best 1000:1 shortest 200:1 Identical odds for the Force India boys and they’re both about as close to the championship as either can hope to be this season. It’s probably better to use your hard earned cash as fire lighters than to have a punt on either for drivers’ champion. collated at www.oddschecker.co.uk 31
