GP Week : Issue 38
>>F1PREVIEW O K, bear with us on this one. You may have noticed throughout GPWeek’s history that we’ve often plumped for headlines which have had at their basis, titles from the wonderful world of popular music. From last week’s BrawnGP feature “Out of the Sinking” (Paul Weller), to, for example, our Giorgio Pantano feature last year, “Return to the last chance saloon” (The Bluetones), we’ve often tipped our caps to the music world in referencing some of our favourite songs or albums. So in coming up with something for the season preview which we thought might serve to be a bit of fun, we’ve decided to collate a playlist of 20 songs which, in their own bizarre way, are supposed to represent each of the drivers who will line up on the grid in Melbourne this weekend. It’s just a bit of fun, but if you like the idea, or even if you think it’s a little bit bonkers, you can follow the link at the end of the feature and download the whole thing from itunes. Yep, GPWeek’s got its playlist on itunes. So whether you’re going to fly to Melbourne to be there in person, or just want some F1 driver-inspired music to listen to on your way to work in the morning, we hope you enjoy it. So here, for your visual and aural pleasure, are the 20 tracks we reckon best represent the Formula 1 Class of 2009… Rock and Roll people, Rock and Roll ...
