>>F1PREVIEW Nick Heidfeld Get A Move On – Mr. Scruff For “Quick Nick”2008 saw media speculation linking him with a short, sharp exit from Formula 1 after apparently failing to impress alongside the new superstar Robert Kubica. While the reports were somewhat wide of the mark, it was widely known that he had been given the hurry-up and told to improve his game. So “Get a Move on”by Mr Scruff, is an apt choice for the bearded and some would say unkempt Mr Heidfeld. Fernando Alonso You Can’t Always Get What You Want The Rolling Stones 2008 wasn’t an easy year for Fernando, but with two wins under his belt by the end of the season, the two-time world champion had started to reconfirm to anyone who had doubted him that he was, and is, one of the very best drivers in the world. Fernando has a bit of a reputation for liking a team to focus on him and for getting his own way, but things can’t always work out the way he wants. But it’s his determination that keeps the team fighting. Nelson Piquet: Mardy Bum – Arctic Monkeys Nelson, like the Arctic Monkeys, has been big news over the last few years. But he’s often been accused of being somewhat down in the mouth… a bit surly… a bit of a “mardy bum” (stroppy little bugger.) But, as the song says, “I’m not a mardy bum,”and he’s not. He’s just a bit misunderstood. He’s taken a lot of flak in the press for being miserable and out of his depth, but as the title of the album declares, “Whatever people say I am, that’s what I’m not.” Jarno Trulli: It Ain’t Over ‘Til It’s Over – Lenny Kravitz Being a massive Lenny Kravtiz fan, it’s only fair we give Jarno a song by his favourite artist. The wine-producing Italian’s been around in F1 a good few years now, but shows no sign of slowing down. Still one of the fastest drivers over one lap, could the new Toyota give him the means to challenge for regular race wins? Like Lenny he may be getting a bit long in the tooth, and has been known for some silly haircuts, but hey, it ‘aint over ‘til it’s over. Timo Glock: This Time (I’m Gonna Try It My Way) – DJ Shadow Timo was one of the stars of 2008 in our eyes, and his season should be remembered for much more than just that last lap in Brazil. Come on people, he was on slicks on a wet track for heaven’s sake! For his impressive performances last year, and the potential we reckon he’s got to shine in 2009, he gets this brilliant track from one of our favourite artists. After a shot at F1 with Jordan in 2004, Timo’s one of the few to get a second shot. And this time, he’s doing it his way. 35
