Force India has come close to scoring its first points in 2009. WILL BUXTON caught up with the team’s entrepreneurial owner in its short history. Denied points in Monaco last season, the team so nearly took its first top eight finish in China just a few weeks ago. It wasn’t to be on those occasions, but the team isn’t far off breaking through that crucial barrier. Led by the inspirational figure of Dr Vijay Mallya, the Force India F1 Team has at its helm not only one of the most charismatic men in the F1 paddock, but one of the most engaging and successful businessmen of the modern world. He’s also one of very few people who could get away with wearing sunglasses in an FIA Press Conference. GPWeek Editor Will Buxton caught up with him in Bahrain. 29
