GP Week : Issue 53
>>WRCASIGHT INrgentina Rally cars. There were originally hopes of entering an official WRC team, but that was not feasible. Regardless, Mads Ostberg entered most events and a second car was available for other drivers as well. It was a remarkable result for Mads when he took sixth place in Portugal and was lying sixth on the first day in Greece. And then there was another “green shoot”, when Prodrive arranged for the promoters of the Rally of Portugal to fund an entry, also in an S14, for Marcus Gronholm. It ended with a bent car but the twice World Champion proved time had not wearied him. It also showed that given certain identifiable changes to the suspension and the steering, the S14 model was not as bad as it was originally thought to be. Far left: Broken suspension finishes Loeb’s rally in Poland. Left: Mikko Hirvonen at the Greek Rally Above: Latvala’s crash took him out of Poland minutes before the finishing line. Top left: Loeb flies in Argentina. 3
