> F1NEWS> Vatenen pledges transparent FIA Would-be Prez says fairness needs to be the name of the Presidential game “I don’t want to stay in FIA Presidential candidate Ari Vatanen has vowed to rewrite the governing body’s ruling statutes, should he be elected to the organisation’s top job on October 23. Vatanen, who is close to naming his running mates and proposed cabinet, told GPWeek that his greatest achievement in office would be to create a fairer system of governance whereby he could be deposed of his leadership should he, as President, lose the faith of the FIA members. “You can only stay in power thanks to the trust of people who have brought you the power,” he told GPWeek. “So therefore this long list that protects the incumbent, I would get rid of this system.
