SPECIAL StAGES n Swedish driver Patrik Flodin has become the first foreign driver to clinch the Russian Open Rally Championship. n Kenny McKinstry has won the Lurgan Park single venue stage rally for the 11th time, driving a Subaru Impreza WRC. Matthew Wilson drove the M-Sport development Fiesta R2 on the Stonethrowers Rally. He was in line for a top 10 result, but crashed on the final stage. n Alejandro Galanti scored a rare international rally victory in a Toyota when his Corolla Super 2000 won the Codasur championship Trans Itapua Rally. n Catalunya Rally will run their shakedown as part of a stage used during the actual event, by special permission of the FIA. n 14 drivers have been named as candidates for the Pirelli Star Driver European Shoot Out final to be held September 18 and 19 at Freistadt in Austria, including the five drivers short-listed at the semi-final shoot out in Finland 10 days ago.
