Has Hayden turned the corner? THE answer, according to the 2006 World Champion, is in the affirmative. "I've started to enjoy the bike -- I'm looking forward to getting out there more than I was at the start. "It's nice to see the progress -- my feeling with the bike is better. Also with the team. Small steps, but consistently, for the last couple of races. "For a while, it was hard to stay positive. But now it's a lot more positive." Part of the mood change came from his contract renewal, after he had been kept hanging while Ducati flirted with Lorenzo and Pedrosa. More was from his rostrum finish at Indianapolis -- the cherry on the top of gradually improving fortunes. "In practice I was fastest through one section. It's been a long time since that happened," he said. As a result, being knocked down on the second corner was especially vexing. "With a good result here, and keeping it going, I could have been looking at moving from 14th in the championship to seventh," he said. rivals MOTOGP | Round 13 SAN MARINO Points -- MotoGP: Valentino Rossi 237, Jorge Lorenzo 207, Dani Pedrosa 157 Casey Stoner 150, Andrea Dovizioso 133, Colin Edwards 123, Loris Capirossi 97 Points -- 250cc: Hiroshi Aoyama 192, Alvaro Bautista 176, Marco Simoncelli 165, Hector Barbera 133, Mattia Pasini 100, Ra aele De Rosa 82 Points -- 125cc: Julian Simon 185, Nicolas Terol 132.5, Bradey Smith 131.5, Sergio Gadea 112, Andrea Iannone 109.5, Pol Espargaro 104.5 Pos # Rider Team Time 1 46 V.
