GP Week : Issue 82
F1 NEWS >> FOLLOWING his win in Barcelona nine days ago, silly season rumours were doing the rounds that Mark Webber is in line for Felipe Massa's seat at Ferrari. However, paddock spies suggest the Australian is close to renewing his contract with Red Bull Racing. Christian Horner was spotted in serious discussion with Bruno and Mathieu Michel, who are part of Webber's management team. Immediately after leaving the lengthy meeting on the Energy Station, they were seen joyously high- fiving Mark's trainer, Roger Cleary. GPWEEK asked Mark direct if a deal had been done in Monaco, but he denies it had: "Certainly haven't come to any agreements yet but there's still a long way to go in terms of what to do for next year," he said. "We've worked very hard over the last few years, Red Bull and myself to get into this situation. I'm actually in no real rush to make any big decisions myself; also I think both of us are very happy with each other, a lot of trust with each other, so let's see how it goes ... there's plenty of time." Webber set to stay at Red Bull despite Ferrari rumours? 7
