For your daily dose of Formula 1 news ... RED Bull Racing has reiterated it's in no rush to introduce a wing-stalling device, after its McLaren-inspired system failed to impress in Istanbul practice. The Red Bull F-Duct actually sapped the car's downforce. Despite McLaren making full use of their system in Canada, on the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve's long straights, their rivals have all struggled to create a system that's as efficient. RBR says it will only run its F-Duct when it is sure it will give benefit. "In Istanbul we had a first look at it, and the initial signs were very encouraging. But we didn't feel that the system was refined enough yet to introduce it for racing usage," explained team principal Christian Horner. "So the guys back in Milton Keynes are focused on reintroducing it for one of the forthcoming races." Canada wasn't the perfect climate for the F- Duct because the wings are set for lower drag anyway. McLaren brought a new specification F-Duct to Montreal with this in mind. It may seem counter-intuitive, given the hunger for straight-line speed, but it's possible no teams will use the F-Duct in Monza because downforce levels are so minimal. F1 NEWS >> TIME is now getting "very tight" if Formula One is to have a safe and plentiful supply of high performance tyres next year, according to Michelin's competition chief Nick Shorrock. It is thought that teams were close to inking a deal with Pirelli before FIA president Jean Todt warned that it would be the governing body and not FOTA or FOM that would be taking the decision on which tyre company would supply the sport. There are suggestions that the FIA could take several weeks in making a decision. Shorrock flew to Istanbul two weeks ago to reiterate the French company's offer to team bosses: "Time is getting very tight to develop a product that is consistent, delivers good performance and above all is safe," warned Shorrock, who was at Le Mans at the weekend. "Within the next couple of weeks, if there's not enough information, then it's going to make life extremely hard for all parties," he said. "My past experience of F1 is around this time people start moving on to next year's car. If you're not on board in June/ July time you will be struggling." Tyre discussions drag on 13
