THROUGH THE LENS ... Bahrain F1 Grand Prix As photographers we love the paddock at Sakhir. It's so easy to work in because it's a very dry heat in Bahrain and that tempts the drivers to sit outside their motor homes. We got lots of portrait shots of people outside, talking on the benches, relaxing under the palm trees, and then you get this fantastic light as the sun starts to set at 16:00. You can just wonder up and down the paddock and shoot with a long lens, whereas in Europe the motor homes get in the way. You also get nice clean backgrounds with the sand-coloured architecture and plain surfaces with no advertising.
