SENNA DELIGHTED WITH POINTS FINISH 27 GPWEEK.com // 27 GPWEEK.com // PARTNERS: Bruno Senna says finishing as the best of the Williams and scoring a point for tenth place in the Indian Grand Prix has boosted his confidence and he expects more top ten finishes as the 2012 season nears its highly- anticipated conclusion. Senna showed good pace almost straight out of the blocks on Friday; Williams’ reserve driver Valtteri Bottas stood in for the Brazilian during FP1, but Senna returned to the cockpit of his FW31 on Friday afternoon to record the tenth fastest time. Sixth in the third and final practice session on Saturday morning boded well, but the 29-year old was unable to carry that pace into qualifying and was disappointed to line-up 13th. However, the Williams racer fought hard throughout Sunday’s grand prix on the Buddh International Circuit and emerged from a number of on-track battles in the points, his Indian Grand Prix weekend culminating with a respectable tenth place finish. “We had a strong car in the race and after a disappointing qualifying yesterday, getting a point means that I am happy with today’s performance,” said Senna. “It was a fun race because I was fighting with cars that were very similar on pace. I had to make my overtaking manoeuvres stick, and so that was very satisfying. “The car has felt much better this weekend so we will head to the next race with a lot more confidence.” F1 >>> INDIA F1 >>> INDIA
