Graphical analysis of the key players' performance TECHNICAL TeCHNICAL PAOLO FILISETTI Technical Editor For the first time we carry out some comparative analysis based strictly on the race data we collected. It’s a massive data collection and elaboration of data through mathematical calculation, that brings us very interesting results and helps us in understanding what really happened in the race for the cars we analyze. Furthermore, this method helps us to provide readers with information regarding the real competitiveness of each car, its problems, positive and negative features that may generate a good or a bad performance on the relevant track. Here it was very interesting to look deeply into the race sector times, to understand exactly, how the result of this race was generated, for 10 cars. We analyzed the times of both Mercedes cars, Ferrari, McLaren, Red Bull, and Williams. We took into account each sector time, and speed. In few words to analyze you have to compare time and speed grahs of each sector. The result showed us that in T1, there is at leas 5 of the 10 cars setting a similar best time, with Raikkonen, Button, Ricciardo and Vettel, not being capable of getting closer times to the others. And, if we look at the speed we can see that while both the Williamses are on top of the speed sheet, together with the McLaren duo, on the other hand we can find Vettel and Ricciardo on the bottom of the list. Sector 1 is a fast sector, including part of the main straight, so we can assume that the downforce level of both Red Bulls was pretty high compared to those of Williams, continued over page RACE SECTOR ANALYSIS T1 TIME ANALYSIS 25.5 26 26.5 27 27.5 ALONSO RAIKKONEN VETTEL RICCIARDO MAGNUSSEN BUTTON MASSA BOTTAS HAMILTON ROSBERG T1 T1 RACE SECTOR ANALYSIS T1 SPEED ANALYSIS 275 280 285 290 295 300 ALONSO RAIKKONEN VETTEL RICCIARDO MAGNUSSEN BUTTON MASSA BOTTAS HAMILTON ROSBERG SPEED 1 SPEED 1 33 GPWEEK.com // 33 GPWEEK.com // F1 >>> MALAYSIA PARTNERS:
