MOTOGP >>> nEWs rOSSi HiNTS AT CONTiNUiNG WiTH YAMAHA Whatever nightmares of a post-Valentino Rossi era that the power brokers of MotoGP might have look like being delayed for another year, at least, with the sport’s biggest name hinting that he will race for Yamaha in 2015. Rossi, 35, has told sky sports that his intention is to stay where he is for at least one season after this one. “I think I will renew with Yamaha,” he said. “I never had the idea of quitting, I feel in good form and above all racing gives me immense pleasure. It’s the most enjoyable thing in my life, I love this world and I love the lifestyle which comes with being a MotoGP rider, training hard and travelling the world. As long as I am competitive I hope to continue.” After a dramatic off-season Rossi started his 15th season in the premier class with a new crew chief and a slightly revised rising style. After finishing second in Qatar to World Champion Marc Marquez, he is confident for the coming events. “Now it’s key to see how competitive we can be in Texas and in Argentina and see if we really are at a better level than in 2013,” he said. “Last year the Qatar race went well but this year the second place was an even better performance in the race. I’ve ridden at a good level throughout my career but now it is more difficult. We have to be very competitive and we know that winning the World title again is really hard, but if we’re near the front every sunday that is fine.” Rossi has won seven MotoGP titles but the last of those came in 2009. His championship placing since have been third, seventh, sixth and fourth. He has won 80 500cc or MotoGP races, but only three of those have come in the last four seasons. 13 GPWEEK.com // 13 GPWEEK.com // PARTNERS:
