MOTOGP >>> nEWs rossi signs, Jorge set to stAy Valentino Rossi looks set to end his MotoGP career as a Yamaha rider and agreeing to a two-year deal with the team. Rossi and Yamaha announced the deal last week, meaning that The Doctor will stay on Yamaha’s M1s for the 2015 and ‘16 seasons. “I am very proud of this announcement,” Rossi said in a statement. “It’s very important to me because I really enjoy working with my crew and all the guys from the team, both the japanese and european members that have been with me almost my entire career. “It’s great because this was my target; I wanted to continue, I am feeling good and I’m motivated to keep giving my best.” On the other side of the Yamaha garage, jorge lorenzo looks likely to stay with Yamaha next season but there is still some work to be done before the two-time world champion inks a new deal. lorenzo told the Motogp.com website that the differences between his management and Yamaha are “Mainly economically to be honest” but it looks likely that he will stay. “My manager will keep talking with lin [jarvis, Yamaha Racing managing director],” he said. “At this moment we have found some differences between us, but as I always say I would like to finish my career with Yamaha. It would be the most beautiful thing. Hopefully we can find a solution.” One of the sticking points is likely to be a lack of a big-money offer from Honda, which has spent large to ensure that wunderkind Marc Marquez does not go anywhere. 16 GPWEEK.com // 16 GPWEEK.com // PARTNERS:
